At six years old, Manish Bansal was told not to exercise, not to swim, not to strain himself. He had a rare genetic disorder that would eventually destroy his kidneys.

Over the next five decades, he would undergo two kidney transplants, five hip replacements, five months of hospitalisation for pancreatitis, twelve years of pancreatic attacks, a cardiac arrest that fractured ten ribs, lower body paralysis, and pancreatic cancer. Between each of these, he built a hospital network from a single room in Mumbai, raised a son, loved a wife, and started a new company the month his chemotherapy ended.

Dr Manish Bansal is the co-founder of RG Stone Urology & Laparoscopy Hospitals, India’s largest urology network. He began his first business with family at twenty-three and his most recent one at fifty-seven. He lives in Mumbai with his wife, Dr Indu Bansal. One More Morning is his first book.
